BIENNAIS SILVERSMITH - ANTIQUE COFFEEPOT IN STERLING SILVER - MARK SECOND COOK (1809-1818) - 1ST TITEL - BEGINNING OF THE 19TH CENTURY - FRENCH - Exceptional quality of this tripod coffeepot of the first Empire and made by the biggest silversmith of this period, BIENNAIS (lived from1764 to1843), named silversmith of the Emperor by Napoléon-Bonaparte himself. Beautiful sobriety for this ovoïd coffeepot with bird's feet, surmonted by appliques of palm leaves, duck's spout decorated with a stylised palmette leaf on an amati background . The discrete border of palmets on the lid appears on the top of the body too. The lid finishes with an hold in form of a flower bud bursting forth from a rosace graved symmetrically with leaf leaves and ananas fruits.
